"Dyers Eve" is the final song from the album "…And Justice For All". The song is well known for Ulrich's intense drumming, double bass is prominent throughout the song. Dyers Eve contains Metallica's fastest beats per minute, coming in at 195 BPM during the faster parts. As a comparison, "Metal Militia" from "Kill 'Em All" comes in at about 180 BPM. *Numbers not verified.
The lyrics contain "Dear mother, dear father" around 10 times. It is said that Dyers Eve is about James Hetfield's anger for his problems/misfortunes in his childhood, with his parents "sheltering" him from the real world, something many teenagers can relate to.
