Biography
MICHELLE XEN is a an Australian producer, vocalist, visual artist, curator and educator.
Maker of video and sound installations. Collector of words. Chaser of songs. Seamstress of strange shapes, sequins and other experiments with colour. Formerly performing and recording with electro-pop duo Edge of Colour she is currently making solo creations and performing with her band THE NEON WILD.
Her sounds have been accumulating love and bravery, to be made loud and played on your music boxes and gadgets. Michelle is a founder and member of the LADY ELECTRONICA collective and has worked in on songs and sounds in the studio with Quan (Regurgitator) and Wally de Backer (Gotye).
Michelle has also worked as a DJ travelling Australia and Japan playing breakbeat and dubstep on beautiful vinyl. She has produced and performed with the electro pop act Edge of Colour and performed at MONA FOMA, Woodford Folk Festival, BIGSOUND LIVE, Brisbane Powerhouse, Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Art, The Zoo, The Globe, Ric’s, X&Y Bar, Old Brisbane Musuem and in Roppongi,
Japan.
Michelle has recently returned from recording in New York and Berlin.
