Mick during the stones days is some of the most mesmerizing and clean blues guitar playing i've ever heard

so boring, oh gods. and I'm not speaking here about this artist only, but rather the whole genre, I suppose. «oh, I can play guitar, so… screw all the music, I'm going to do the only thing I can – solo here, solo there, one more solo». I'd tag it guitar-fap (of the «guitar-fap» generation). if it's your hero, sorry for being rude. I play the guitar myself, so I'm pretty familiar with the guitar community – it's pretty wicked sometimes.

Too bad Mick never gets any credit. I mean, yeah Keith is a legend, but Mick is too. He should get just as much credit as Keith Richards does.

I love the Stones and love the stuff with Woods but with Taylor they were the best band both in the studio and live. He was amazing and it's a shame that he was quite limited in the studio so a lot listeners don't really get to fully appreciate his guitar playing.

The end of the Stones as their most creative. Anything seeming anywhere near they were when they were at the top of their game was already written before Taylor left, such as Waiting on a Friend or Start Me Up. They went from a class of their own to caricatures of their former selves. The biggest mistake in any bands career.

Mick Taylor is an excellent english lead guitarist, who played with the Stones for about five years in the early 1970's. At the age of 16 he made his debut with John Mayall on a night when Eric Clapton failed to show up. Mayall auditioned Taylor in the interval, and then he played the second half of the gig using Clapton's equipment! Now that's what I call being chucked in at the deep end! My favourite work by Mick Taylor is on John Mayall's 'Blues From Laurel Canyon' album. It's his birthday this month - he was born in 1948.
