Shwang_Shwinga: You seem to think the original song was 'goofy' simply because the movie (Diabolik) was shown on MST3k. I think the movie is awesome and the Brains made a terrible mistake in selecting it for their final episode (they've made the mistake of picking decent movies before; see This Island Earth). Regardless, I believe the score to Diabolik is one of the finest things Ennio Morricone has ever done, and was quite influential on Mike Patton, especially the first Fantômas album. FWIW, I reckon "Deep Down", both this cover and the original, are beautiful, dreamy slices of the 60's that we'll sadly never get to hear in mainstream music ever again.
