Does anyone else think it sounds like Miles is quoting "Down By the Riverside" at parts?

one of the most epic moments in music history. the guitar solo is other-wordly, the keyboards astounding, and Miles fresh as always, crisp, clean, even among the chaos. This is superb! I bow down to the gods of music as they dance wildly to this masterpiece and possess my body with their sounds... and im not even high hahaha

Miles Runs the Voodoo Down and the other accompanying tracks on Bitches Brew make up arguably the most important jazz album of the 20th century. While admittedly a flawed masterpiece it spawned countless fusion endeavors by the band mates schooled by MIles. It is hard to imagine music without Davis' significant influence on fusion and modal jazz.

Miles was to Jazz what Neil Young is to Rock...marched to their own beat and if you like it, cool. If you don't, don't listen. I liked this album even though it was very different from some of my favorite albums from Miles Davis.

Hadn't listened to this in ages - it's amazing. If you put it next to the o.t.t. .excess of what came later - 'Dark Magus', 'Black Beauty' etc. Miles' sense of economy really shines through. It might be electric period Miles, but it looks back to 'Kind of Blue' as much as it looks forward.

Remember when people used to buy CDs? I would not have bought this CD, knowing that I'd only listen to it once every few years. But here, in the mix, it's just right.

Starts out great, but kind of devolves into directionless wankery after about 9 minutes. It ends right about when it's started to regain its footing.

MrBuddyDoot, I'm being pedantic ... but "literally teens"? You just made me feel a lot better about my age In 1969 Williams was 23/24, Corea was 27/28, Hancock was 28/29 Willaism was 19 when he started with Miles' quintet in 1965
