Dark and trippy album, very psychedelic sounding, i like it more than more known Filth Pig.

Reading how much hate Filth Pig and Dark Side of the Spoon got when they were released is ridiculous. It just fills me up with rage. I mean how deaf you have to be not to hear how good these two records are? This may be the best and the most creative stuff Ministry has ever released.

All these bad things happen to you and after you realise what to look for only help, you take a dose of cocaine heated on a silver spoon, and it is like landing in nursing home. The last part is total bliss, and then twitching comes, and it is like listening to Charles Mingus... In the morning you have a strange phone call with your girlfriend.

While Filth Pig grew on me, I loved Dark Side of the Spoon upon my first listen. One of my favorites.

I first listened to FILTH PIG and hated it. It later became one of my top five albums of all time but it did take me a long while before I fully appreciated it. For DARK SIDE OF THE SPOON however, again I hated it upon the first listen, but listened to it straight away after and started to love it. FILTH PIG initiates you for DSOTS.

Definitely my favorite of their albums, did even beat up "Psalm 69" for me due it's trippy sound. I remember Al stating in an interview before the album was released that he rather would use to smash another bad drug-trip in front of the kids forheads instead of producing another cheap copy of one of their successfuller previous albums. And that's simply it: A very bad trip.

When this came out, my taste had been changing, and I hadn't listened to Ministry for some time. Out of curiosity, I went out and bought this one. I gave it a few chances, but I thought it was so bad that I sold it within a month of buying it. And I've never bought any of their discs that came since. But now that I'm getting back into old MInistry again, I came here and saw all the positive shouts on this one and now I'm giving these tracks another chance. And now I do hear some of the same qualities I like about Filth Pig.

SUCH an underrated/overlooked album, and easily the best of post-Filth Pig Ministry. 'Kaif' and 'Bad Blood' are mandatory listening.
