Why did all the original members, except Mircea Gabriel Eftemie, quit (or fired) before the album Mnemis was wrote and recorded? I know why the original singer left after the second album, but not why the rest of the band left in 2011. It's like after Sons of the System was released the band members quit en masse.

Damn, I hadn't paid attention to the band as of late.. RIP Guillaume. I was really hoping for another album, but that can't happen now. :( Still, this discography pleases me anyway.

its getting to the point where i hate michael's stupid face and stupid songs. they made MORE albums with guillaume, they were with Guillaume for MORE time, the albums they made with guillaume were simply BETTER written. they were!!!!! put the guillaume pic at the front please.

guillaume's distorted vocals were a lot more varied, compare the ones on passenger to sons of the system then mnemesis. theyre worlds apart, all very inspired and interesting and expressive in their own right

i mean u like stuff like dark tranquillity and meshuggah and scar symmetry so of course you'd prefer the growls on mnemesis. thats to be expected. we simply have different tastes. you look at my profile u see barely any metal (or weird unknown metal that sounds different to the regular stuff) because i find most metal to be quite boring. vocals guitars drums keyboards even production just sounds incredibly boring most of the time. oh yeah my friend also loved the production on passenger - how each instrument sounded, how each are mixed in. so yeah if metal was able to surprise, inspire and interest me more like mnemic does, then i'd listen to far more. I do love bands like dark tranquillity and scar symmetry because they do something a little different to most metal bands. They use melody and style to fuse the extreme metal with soaring grandiosity. almost all metal bands i've tried fail to do that, but a select few absolutely nail it, and i love metal but only in such instances.

if u don't like persefone for example purely for the vocals because they don't utilise that dark tranquillity mikael stanne death growl, then thats fine because they evidently are very different. but u must still appreciate the band for being so different and interesting than most bands out there. and the vocalist is far more capable than the vocalist from at the gates for example. It kinda blows me away how so many people like the at the gates vocals but then ridicule stuff like persefone or mnemic passenger & sots for having vocals that dont utilise death growl. Vocals in at the gates are the absolute furthest you'll ever get from death growl. Heck, even mikkel sandager's high pitched scream sounds worlds better than at the gates, with all due respect the band is cool as heck but the vocals are bewildering.

mikkel sandager in the older mercenary albums, namely 11 dreams, the hours that remain, and architect of lies. Another incredibly interesting band that makes me love metal.

basically michael made catchier singles and more creative music videos, and guillaume made more complex lyrics and vocals, and more consistently well written albums. there. now stop arguing over who's better.

Luckily i dig both eras of the band. Sure it took me a while to get used to Guillaume as was expected, but patience is a virtue. Eventually I respected his input into the band so greatly i didn't really miss Michael anymore, but hey.. it wouldn't hurt if Michael makes a guest appearance in the future (i sure hope so!).

man, i wrote this massive essay about the dichotomy of Michael and Guillaume and their influence on the music and fanbase. I'd be happy to share it right here, as it was originally intended to be posted as a comment on the band's facebook where it is very obvious that they were teasing a return with Michael, but I was too scared of offending the actual band. I tried to make it as unbiased as possible but yeah *shrug shoulders*. I'd have to post it as multiple replies of course due to lastfm's 1000 character limit *sigh*. But is it something you'd be interested in reading? I rarely meet people like you and I, people who don't actually hate the Guillaume era and are actually able to appreciate the genius in both eras of the band.

Did you check out Scamp = The Deadcalm? I believe its the closest that we can get of Mnemic's Bogballe era.

Whatever happened to this band? Ever since their singer on the first two albums, this band went straight down the shitter.

Ehh, Guillaume has improved over time and is pretty damn good on the latest album. Of course Michael was pretty darn good on the first two albums. Instrumentally Mnemesis is what you'd expect from a band like Mnemic.

the vocals on passenger are very complex. its a brilliantly written album. guillaume's mnemic feels like an entirely different band.

Mnemesis is actually my favorite album. Took a long time to grow on me. Hoping for a new album that's like it but maybe with some faster and more aggressive songs. The groove and electronic stuff were on point on that album. I believe the band is now in some sort of limbo where they are not sure if they should make a new album or not and in what style...

I've really enjoyed Passenger and Mnemesis but somehow I never could really get into Sons of the System. Mnemesis has some really catchy tracks and still a fine closure to the band. Passenger was quite explosive compared to the latest two releases, Humanaut, Meaningless and Pigfuck are some damn good jams. I've never heard of Scamp but might as well try it out, his vocal works were really good on the first 2 releases of Mnemic.

Yeah it's good but I would prefer Mnemic to make something new like Mechanical Spin Phenomena. It's probably one of the best modern metal albums I've ever heard. Audio Injection Soul has some really killer tracks too. The later albums aren't bad but I sure miss the old vocalist.

On re-visiting their material with Guillame, he's a very good fit as well...just in a different way. Think I actually prefer the recent albums over One-Way Mirror now.
