Biography

Monte Moir is a songwriter, singer, producer and one of the original members of the innovative R&B group The Time.

Monte started in college as a keyboardist and singer in a band called Flyte Tyme, which later became the core of The Time. Monte toured with The Time in the early 80s, eventually going out on his own as a songwriter and producer, working with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis of Flyte Tyme Productions.

As a songwriter and producer, Monte has had a number of hits including Janet Jackson’s, “The Pleasure Principle” (from her Grammy nominated Control CD), Alexander O’Neal’s, “If You Were Here Tonight,” and others.

Recently, Monte completed his first solo album. Called This Side of Paradise, it’s in stores now and available for purchase on this site (click here to order http://www.montemoir.com/newrelease.html). He is also touring again with The Time in front of a wide and loyal audience
