Biography

Morðingjarnir rose from the ashes of the '2003 Battle of the Bands' winner Dáðadrengir. They were formed in 2005 and started playing every other venue in Reykjavík, every other week. The released the much overlooked 'Í Götunni Minni' in 2006 and from there on, only started to climb through the publics consciousness. When their second album dropped, 'Áfram Ísland!', despite some disgust from a famous icelandic radio host for their name (eng. The Murderers), quickly they became darlings of the underground scene. In late 2009, energized and trying to avoid the subject of the financial crisis in Iceland, and keep everyones spirits up, released the appropriately titled 'Flóttinn Mikli' (The Great Escape) to much critical and public acclaim.
