Biography

Santino Fernandez started spinning in Ft. Lauderdale, FL back in 1996 at the age of 16. Despite being exposed to such a flourishing scene of electronic music, he didn't truly begin to embrace electro until 1998 when he finally figured out that this was the sound thathe had been looking for. A lways analyzing things, Santino figured out a personal concept behind electro causing his journey to head in a different direction than what he had originally planned. After a few years, Santino was drawn back to Maryland, US where he was born, in hopes to start a new life and to put in perspective all the things that he had learned along the way.

Three years after returning home and growing up some more, he had finally put his foot forward to get back into music, this time with a more mature and realistic outlook. With his style and talent redefined, he began writing his own tracks and working as "Morphogenetic" on the Fundamental Bass Intelligence Project with his new partner in crime… and love, Starrie Williamson aka Selekta Stjarna (www.selektastjarna.com). Santino has also been working with Dona Li Records ( www.dona-li.com ), where he appeared on "The Guilty Compilation Vol. 2" with Dark Vektor, Atomlive, Boris Divider and Scape One as well as the latest Guilty Compilation Vol. 5, where he wrote the song, Music of the Spheres with Dark Vektor. Currently, Santino is working on his other project Metatron, alongside Stjarna, where they will be remixing Kosmozo's The Plan for their debut vinyl release on FBI, due out sometime in 2008.

Music has always meant a lot to Santino, but nothing quite compares to the sounds of electro. He has always felt a kinship to the spiritual side of the sound and to the idea of using one's creativity to orchestrate a song that could lift a person's soul to a higher level of understanding. Santino's influences are quite varied, ranging from Classical Music to Depeche Mode, New Order, Carl Finlow and Mandroid. Santino has performed in various clubs in the USA around the Fort Lauderdale, FL area, along with Washington DC and Richmond, VA.
