It's really fucked up that so fantastic deathcore bands like this one are dead. This decade is shitty. [2]

Oh dang I missed the argument between my friends. Glad you guys resolved it peacefully and agree that Mortal Treason comes out on the winning end. Next time let me know when you guys are about to argue so I can jump right in :P Don't know if I'd label either album as deathcore though :O

@Storm that's perfectly understandable, and I feel the same way about a lot of those bands as well, never was a fan of Job for a Cowboy. Thanks for clarifying though; hope I didn't offend you in any way with that previous comment. peace

That's got to be one of the gayest comments I've ever read. Since when has having a lyrically based Christian metal band made the music they write any different from the music other metal bands write (within the same genre of course) ? I'll admit, there are some very sucky Christian metal bands, but there are also just as many, if not more, "non-Christian" metal bands that suck just as bad. But I guess that's how it's gonna be.. People are going to automatically downsize Christian metal bands and ignore the music they write just bc they sing about their faith (But doesn't everybody sing based on some sort of faith.. weather it be in satin, Evolution, God, or just life itself?) I understand that Storm's not hammering Mortal Treason, but the fact that you said that about all other "Christian" bands pissed me off bc it's just not true (in most cases at least). You might try looking up Extol, Virgin Black, Zao, or Ancestor, all really good metal bands that just so happen to be Christian

needmonoise, I am not sure where they are going with this single line, the intro to A Call to the Martyrs, but we can conjecture. I think that either it could refer to the Crusades (in which many men and woman did die for "Christendom"). I think, most likely, however, that it is talking about the death of martyrs, and of how martyrs are blessed because they die in the name of Christ. If you look at it like this, then the more Christians become martyrs, the more God is glorified. From this standpoint, it is not hard to see that "mass murder for the sake of Christ" simply refers to glorifying God through the ultimate sacrifices man can make. The rest of the song is about martyrdom.

shame these guys broke up :( and a word to the wise for quality music of the same style; if you haven't heard August Burns Red then you're doing something wrong.
