Biography

Motoko Kumai (くまい もとこ, Kumai Motoko?, real name: 熊井 統子, born September 8, 1970 in Tokyo, Japan) is a seiyū (Japanese voice actor).

She is employed by 81 Produce. One of her most notable roles is Syaoran Li on Cardcaptor Sakura and Takao Kinomiya on Beyblade.

From 2006, December 21 until October 2007, Motoko left her voice career due to an illness requiring medical treatment.

She has worked together with Yukana Nogami in 3 anime adapted from Clamp's works:
o in Cardcaptor Sakura, as Li Syaoran.
o in Chobits, as Sumomo.
o in X/1999, as Nataku.

She performed the 1st opening ("Go Ahead") for Beyblade G-revolution as well as the insert song in Cardcaptor Sakura EP 57 ("Ki ni Naru Aitsu")

She has been in two anime based on manga by Nobuyuki Anzai:
o Flame of Recca as Kaoru Koganei
o Marchen Awakens Romance as Ginta Toramizu
