Biography
Since their founding in 2006 My City Burning has become a household name among
everyone who’s heard the band or seen them live. Their hands-on DIY approach,
combined with the will to work and improve, landed the band a deal with I Scream
Records for 2010’s “Lone Wolves”, lead them to share the stage with the underground’s
greatest names, and took them and as far as Japan to melt the faces off of mixed
crowds of hardcore kids and metal heads.
After the release of their debut album “Lone Wolves”, the band sought to make a music video,
which would help them garner the necessary international attention. Having secured Carlo
Oppermann & Ambitious Films (known for their work for Terror, Comeback Kid and Parkway Drive),
they came up with a simple idea: “What if we ask our favorite bands to play a small part in this?”
And so, what started as a something seemingly far-fetched idea, turned into a tight,
energetic live video, featuring members of Sick Of It All, Biohazard, Agnostic Front, Cancer Bats,
Death Before Dishonor, Death By Stereo and First Blood, garnering 20,000+ views in the first
month alone.
My City Burning’s DIY foundation leads them to constantly reassess accomplishments, try to improve in every
way possible and then reset their goals and boundaries. The amount of dedication and work has
also lead to them burning through bass players like napalm, but the results speak for themselves as
the band has shared stages all over Europe with bands like Hatebreed, Machine Head, Sick Of It
All, Blood For Blood, Agnostic Front, Stick To Your Guns, Evergreen Terrace, Pro-Pain and
countless more big names in the genre. Brick by brick, step by step, the band builds on each win,
bringing them as far as Japan to showcase their intense live shows.
