Biography

Child of a Wild Child, Naja Rosa grew up on the road of music. She calls herself a restless artist, with roots in the cities she calls home; from Brooklyn to LA to Puerto Rico, and Copenhagen, Denmark, where she is originally from. Naja was born of music, as the daughter of the main characters and founders of the legendary Scandinavian rock group The Savage Rose. She has composed melodies and lyrics since early childhood. Since then, she has spent her life on stages around the world touring with her parents – from huge festivals to small squares around Europe. As a part of the The Savage Rose, she also landed two of her own compositions on their 2007 Danish Music Award-nominated release, "Universal Daughter". She recently wrapped a European Tour with The Savage Rose in fall 2008. Now 28 years old and in New York, Naja Rosa is putting the finishing touches on her debut solo album. She has had the privilege of getting the album mixed and mastered by the renowned Bryce Goggins and Fred Kevorkian. As for working with the musicians that appear on the recordings, Naja says "The music came to life. They brought their stories and souls and here was the sound. It resonated cities, people, streets…Drums, bass, guitars, and keys…To sing and work with them. Magical. But real fucking rock'n'roll. Real music." The album consists of Naja's original compositions and songs, and may be reminiscent of the beatnik/rock music of the 1960-70s, and even the 50s. She has mixed these influences with others and created something new. Similar to the moody sound of a Tarantino soundtrack, her vocals are deep, soulful and pure. Full of life, and with a wink of humor. These strong, melodic songs can take you from a rockin' and rollin' crazy Saturday night to a bluesy Sunday. Naja has also produced a book in Scandinavia displaying her photography and stories from her travels around the world with music.
