Awesome album, however I think this might be a hot take but I prefer the second half (tracks 13-28) over the first half (tracks 1-12)

I don't want to insult fans, but I just can't help giggling when I hear this barking vocal :D

My most listened to Napalm Death album and it's safe to say it's my favorite by ND!

I love this album a lot. It has aged well and it will always be awesome as time goes by. Truly an album that stands the test of time. I love everything about this album! The best Napalm Death album, IMO!

Still spectacular over 30 years later. It's really amazing when you look at the circumstances of the recording how this has gone down as a bona fide classic; only Mick Harris is present on both sides of the album and there is an obviously distinct change in sound from one side to the next. In spite of the extreme lack of cohesion, rather than striking the listener as an overly schizophrenic recording, it almost feels like a smorgasbord offering of the most extreme manifestations and incestuous marriages of Punk and Metal styles and subgenres possible at the time, with the last handful/couple handfuls of tracks being the archetype for Grindcore with their roared, grunted and gurgled lyrics of political rage, searing, cacophonous high-energy riffing, queasy, seasick bass and godlike spastic drumming. And in all the years since this blueprint was sketched out amidst all the personnel turmoil and turnover, it's still seldom been topped.

This is truly a grindcore masterpiece! Instinct Of Survival, Scum, Siege of Power, Prison Without Walls and As the Machine Rolls On are the highlights of this album.
