Nardis is the downtempo project by Fed Conti
Versatile Musician, Producer & Composer, Hammond Organ & Piano Player, Alternative Dj, owner of the Uk label and publishing company Mahjong Music including the trademarks VEKTOR Traks, VEKTOR jazztraks, VEKTOR cinetraks, VISION Digital.
Also known with his full name Federico Conti and the monickers Nardis and Mahjong. Founder and part of the projects: La Boutique (alternative-pop duo with Stefania Tasca), the soulful collective Sun & Soul Shades and the electro-brazilian ensemble De Madrugada.
Growing up as a jazz virtuoso musician, Fed studied with the legendary american organist Shirley Scott. He played organ and piano with artists such Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari, Benny Golson, Little Milton, Mike Stern, Rev. Lee Brown, Peter Bernstein, Bobby Durham, Buster Williams, Mel Gaynor (Simple Minds). During his recording artist career he also started to be a valued multi instrumentalist working as session guitarist, bass player and beat maker.
Fed Conti is a music encyclopedia: his biggest music influences are related to jazz & rock from the 60’s & 70’s, electro sounds of the 80’s, rave & metal of the 90’s, contemporary cinematic & electronic music.
Beside the great music passion he’s also fan of new technologies, psychology, anthropology, science fiction, experimental theater. He graduated a master in sarcasm at the university of life.
Fed has unleashed his original work and remixes on many renowned labels worldwide including Ministry of Sound, Island Uk, Universal Uk, Hed Kandi, Skint, Stealth, Rebirth, Cafè del Mar to name a few. His music has been supported by Djs such Danny Tenaglia, Mr V, Laurent Garnier. Roger Sanchez and Carl Cox have selected his tracks for their compilations, while artists such Radio Slave and Magic Johnson have been remixing his original tracks.
Fed Conti’s music has been featured on Tv Series such The Ringer, Nikita, Csi Miami, Burn Notice, The Castle, several Tv Shows by Abc, Cbs, Mtv, Mediaset, on the movie "Mr Popper Penguins" with Jim Carey and the horror movie "American Mary”.
Signed by Chesterfield cigarettes for an european concert tour and an advertising campaign. Fed Conti's music also appeared on Advertising Campaigns by international brands such Coca Cola, Ford, Fiat, Always, Infasil, Lancia and Atari.
