Nas spent his entire life trying to make money, whether that was through rap or doing petty robberies/drug deals. And his dream of making money finally came true after Illmatic came out and he was paid 17k in advance by the record company. Nas responds to “Why,” by Lakey Da Kid. Due to his inability to blow-up, Lakey blamed his failure on Nas and began to diss him.
