Sharing a communal love for a variety of musical influences over one particular genre or
style, NATIVES OF THE NEW DAWN brandish a unique urban retro mash up that
derives its artistry from all over the map, finessing a tight and uniquely cohesive sound
that begs to be defined. By drawing inspiration from all over the musical spectrum
Natives have always remained distinct, pushing musical boundaries, and challenging the
standards of popular music.
Perhaps best described as the bastard love child of Led Zeppelin, A Tribe Called Quest,
and Sly & the Family Stone, NATIVES OF THE NEW DAWN have been holding it
down for 5 solid and productive years of independent touring, performing, writing,
recording, and living amidst a topsy-turvy record industry that continues its struggle to
redefine itself, while independent artists such as Natives have embraced, endured, and
continue to strive to redefine the prevailing trends of contemporary pop culture.
Best understood during a live set, Natives music is a perpetually evolving sound that
contains an intangible buoyancy that is easier felt than explained. With a laundry list of
accolades and awards including a whirlwind tour through Germany as part of the
Taubertal Open Air festival, 4 summers on the Van's Warped Tour, a national tour
supporting the legendary ska/rock pioneers Fishbone, as well as support performances
with other noteworthy indie standouts like Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, Pennywise, and
Rebelution, NATIVES OF THE NEW DAWN have turned heads amongst some of
today's touring elite, and continue to break new ground…
