The other guy from the band was one of the writers of The Weeknd's Blinding Lights. Who knew. They still doing music stuff. Just not this their awesome own band.

Earliest LP and Wintermute are perfection - they fit in awesome way, mixing old school EBM like Tyske Ludder (Black Paintings) with neo-industrial-ebm-something (Wintermute). I can't get into The Room yet, but these two another albums are just too good for me. Atmosphere of "touching", emotionful, Skinny-like industrial and Wintermute's melancholic but also hard, technical stuff in the same time cooperates like nothing I heard before.

I'd compare Wintermute to Covenants Northern Light. Both albums are melancholic and amazing.

I actually love their demo "Connected Ignorance" from 2001 or whenever it was. The stuff before that is pretty dubious though. But really, I don't know what you're expecting from 14-15 year olds. That they made connected ignorance back then is pretty incredible in my book, and I'm still going back to the track "New World" from the even earlier demo "Malice and Hate", which I think is really nice. The new stuff is pretty good though, but I can't help but feel there's something missing.

one of the best industrial bands (old stuff). Hope, they´ll bring the old school style back someday .

Even though Wintermute channels more of the 'Pro-Test' era Puppy, than previous albums being inspired by more classic sounds, it's still pretty good. Some of the vocal stylings are just painfully fromage-laced though like 'Fall Apart' & 'Supposed'. I always skip those tracks. 'Skrik' more than makes up for the shortcomings of any other tracks on the album though.

Haha. Congrats on the epic fail, aonar. You are wrong. Completely wrong. If anything, its probably the best track on the album (that's why it was chosen as a single), but the whole of Modern Ruin is excellent anyway. Please take your negativity elsewhere - if you have nothing good to say, best to keep your mouth shut.

I don't think so - Wintermute is great, but it's industrial rock, not ebm. But "Do You Feel The Same" is brilliant

I've only listened to The Room and I find it a quite interesting album. For sure Skinny Puppy's seed is there, but they do a more melodic treatment on synths without losing coldness and crudity. Not so clones. Also comparing to new SP it's not fair , you may like it more but SP just changed direction.
