Neil Arthur (born on 15 August 1958, in Darwen, Lancashire) is known as the vocalist in the synthpop duo
Blancmange. Together with Stephen Luscombe (born on 29 October 1954, in Hillingdon, Middlesex), they formed Blancmange in Harrow in 1979.
Following 3 studio albums and the duo's amicable split in 1986, he focused on soundtrack work for much of the 90's and early 00's, but briefly re-emerged as a solo artist in 1992, and released an album under his own name entitled Suitcase on Chrysalis Records in 1994.
In the late 2000's, both he and Luscombe restarted Blancmange. Due to ill health, Luscombe departed around 2012/13 and Arthur has continued under the Blancmange name and has released many more albums since under that name.
