One of the rare bands who produced album after album of quality - or at least, album after album where I devoutly listen to the whole thing, no skipping. Burst onto the scene with "Journey to the Centre of the Eye", psychdelic prog classic, as was their follow up "A Tab in the Ocean" ,"Remember the Future" is glorious, "Sounds Like This" is fantasatic, I could go on and on, but I love every album all the way up to "Magic is a Child", one of their last. They're just pure quality. I also have a special affinity for both the band and in particular "Remember the Future" which was my proper introduction to prog, and made me fall in love with all things prog. I think Recycled is probably theier best album, but they're all great. 2,100 scrobbles and counting!

It was my introduction to prog. I don't know if you're a fan of prog generally, but if you are you'll get a kick out of this (at least, I do, looking back) - at first there was a particular segment I really enjoyed and I wanted to just narrow in on that section....how naive I was! The deep satisfaction of prog comes from the long, culminating journey. Remember the Future is beautiful!

Who despises them?! Such people are idiots, think nothing of them! if we're in the minority, we are the exalted few, and all the better for it

I discover them - 45 years late! Better late than never. Must have been very underated as I'd never heard of them until recently. 'Remember' is a fantastic album.

Never saw Nektar live but would have loved to see them. Another one of those underrated bands from the early 70's.

There is another band called "Nektar". They are a female fronted Progressive Gothic Metal band from Batang, Indonesia. Some info in Indonesian language can be found here : http://www.indometalgoth.com/2012/07/nektar-band-batang-gothic-progressive.html And here is a youtube video of one of their songs, that comes with some info in English : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY3DgxFQzI4&feature=relmfu

Always liked this band. Hard to believe that Remember The Future went to #14 on the US album charts in 1973. Different era to be sure!!!

Not the best. They were only one of the bests. (There were dozens of excellent psychedelic rock bands across the US and Europe in the second half of 60s and first half of 70s.) :D
