Biography
Musicians with the verve of Realcino Lima Filho, aka Nenê, will always be celebrated for the importance of their work. Internationally known for the talent and uniqueness of his drum playing, and also for his work as a composer, arranger and educator; the “gaucho” (born in Porto Alegre – south of Brazil), builds incredible atmospheres in his compositions.
Nenê recorded some of the Brazilian music landmark albums throughout his career, such as “Sanfona” (1981) with Egberto Gismonti, for the ECM label, “Ao vivo em Montreaux” (1979) with Hermeto Pascoal, “Clube da Esquina 2” (1978) with Milton Nascimento, and “Falso Brilhante” (1976), with Elis Regina. He also played with major jazz musicians such as Charlie Haden, Steve Lacy and Richard Galliano, just to name a few.
Released in 1983, “Bugre” Nenê´s first solo album was chosen by the French magazine, Jazz Hot, as one of the ‘year’s top 10’. In 1997, “Suite Curral del Rey” was nominated for “Best Latin Album”. Celebrating more then four decades as a drummer, Nenê keeps innovating and renewing his music.
