I love how this is closely linked to The Wretched - they're both track 4 on Left and Right parts

Industrial is a genre that is not defined by one specific style. If we only define industrial by bands like throbbing Gristle, NON, and Cabaret Voltaire, we forget that industrial has spawned so many sub-genres, including post-punk, ebm, dark-electro, and, of course, industrial rock/metal. Nine Inch Nails is an example of an artist who can and will cross boundries with his music.

nine inch nails really isnt industrial. it cant be categorized by one genre. they only did that to trent so they could sell his records. another reason would be for his love of noise. but have you ever listened to true old industrial? furthurmore each album nine inch nails does is a different genre.

asbestosbill: there's multiple releases i think for almost every song from them. I find most of my favs are ones that almost make the album but end up in another release afterwards (10 miles high off things falling apart you can hear cue up at the end of the mark has been made off the fragile, i can't tell you how long i searched for it until the local cd shop guy was able to tell me). All i can suggest is find/buy every NiN album because they're all totally worth it. I simply wish i could find more artists/albums/songs that match the mood of this song. All the genres distort music classification to a point of not even knowing what genre covers what nowadays haha.

One of the greatest 'instrumentals' ever written in my opinion - and is this the awesome song they used/sampled in the film Man on Fire?
