Familiarly known as Sa'chan her career started in 1956 and by 1967 she had sold over 10 million copies of mainly singles, so one of the big players. She appeared 10 times on the NHK red/white singing competition, where enka singers are pit against eachother singing the same song, probably winning some of them.
