Biography

Nitebreed is Ready to Be Unleashed – Nicholas Alfonse –

Norristown, Pennsylvania’s Nitebreed are preparing to unveil their R&B and classically influenced brand of hip hop on the music world with their debut album, Unleashed. Utilizing their imaginative skills and complex rhyming technique, Nitebreed bring something unusual to the table, instead of relying on the same repetitious themes in contemporary rap music. Receiving airplay on local radio stations, support from Six Ten Records, and generating buzz on social media outlets such as MySpace and Facebook, this is just the beginning for this hip hop duo.

Formed by Rainn and Guyver in the suburb outside of Philadelphia, the pair ferociously wrote songs and crafted beats that began to quickly catch fire among music enthusiasts. Nitebreed was interviewed by Steve Levy on Channel 10 News in Philadelphia, and over the past year have debuted the single “Someone’s Got the Odor” on WUSL Power 99 FM for fans across the area. Popular DJ, Mike Scott, played their latest single “Children of the Night” at the Wachovia Center during Philadelphia 76ers basketball games for thousands of fans packed in attendance. Using the booming local area’s hip hop scene as a springboard, Nitebreed launched a web-based promotion campaign through social media to attract fans from over 60 countries including Great Britain, Australia, Japan, Brazil, India, Canada and Italy.

The anticipation for Unleashed grew considerably over the past year, thanks to the releases of multiple singles on Philadelphia area radio stations such as Wired 96.5, 100.3 The Beat, and Power 99 FM. “Someone’s Got the Odor” has a bouncy, old school flair, with a bass and saxophone driven beat and unusual, yet humorous lyrics. The second single, “Once More” continues with a 90s hip hop influence, but with a slower, heavier stripped down beat, relying on simple, catchy drums, bass and cymbals. “Children of the Night” is the infectious, epic predecessor to Unleashed, making a bold departure from the traditional world of rap, as Rainn and Guyver spit a unique rhyme about werewolves and vampires.

Unafraid to experiment and write interesting, new songs, Nitebreed are capable of offering something to a variety of fans by remaining versatile and creative with their music writing formula. Unleashed is just the start for the Norristown pair, allowing them to maximize their potential and reach thousands of new listeners across the world. The album is available for pre-orders through their website, and will be available everywhere May 18th 2010.
