2) No Parents is a band from Birmingham, AL that formed in early 2008. Equal parts power pop, synth pop and post-punk, members include Michael Sherer (vocals, guitar), Jason Grover (lead guitar), Adam Fargason (bass), Mark Sherer (drums), and Bryant Saxon (synthesizer). Influences include Joy Division, Chavez, Sonic Youth, John Cale, Brian Eno, New Order, Guided By Voices, Polvo, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Gary Numan, Roxy Music, Echo and the Bunnymen, XTC, the Kinks, Scott Walker, Nick Cave, the Birthday Party, the Pop Group, The Minutemen, Wire, the Mekons, the Grifters, My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, Young Marble Giants, Brainiac, Silkworm, Steve Albini, Television, Can, Public Image Ltd., David Bowie, and Silver Apples.
