    1998 – 2012 (14 years)

  • Founded In

    Majadahonda, Comunidad de Madrid, Spain

Nothink have three albums "Bipolar age" (2005), "Spotlights" (2007) and "Hidden State" (2010), they melded loud guitars with pretty melodies and mixed punk sensibilities with a sharp sense of pop songwriting.
The band was born in 1998 in Madrid, where Juan and Alex started playing in a small garage at the age of 15 with a clear influence of punk-rock, playing covers of their favourite band, after several line-up changes, Miguel joins the band in December 2003 as a drummer. It is then, that the band reaches its much-needed stability.

"Spotlights" has received extraordinary reviews from the specialized press, and an overwhelming reaction from the audience.
Being chosen as the "best national Rock album" and "best live band" in 2007 by Rockzone (former Rock Sound) magazine, they shared the cover with Scottish band Biffy Clyro, officialy placing NOTHINK as one of the most fit bands in the actual scene.
The album was recorded in Ultramarinos Costa Brava Studios by Santi Garcia, and involved special colaborations from Ramon Rodriguez (Madee), Dani Llamas (Gas Drummers) and orquestration by the Kiev Philarmonic orquesta .
"Spotlights" comes after “Bipolar Age” (aloud Music 2005), NOTHINK's first album. "Bipolar Age" had a great response, and most of the media placed NOTHINK as the new sensation and a very promising band. Nothink performed as a guest band for the latest Beatsteaks spanish tour and have also played in some important rock festivals like Electric Weekend and Festimad.
Behind their backs are thousands of kilometers on the road and hundreds of gigs; sharing stage with bands such as Queens of the stone age, Millencolin, Brant Bjork and the bross, Engine down, Hell is for Heroes…

Something intresting in Nothink´s music is the fact that they have never followed a determined style, sharing intensity and powerfull guitar-oriented sound but without ever forgeting the melody. They create different atmospheres; from euforia to melancholy, from melancholy to the craziest trip and back. Close to post-hardcore, but influenced by 90´s rock , their influences expand to more elaborated and experimental sounds.
After the good reviews recived by magazines such as Mondosonoro from their first recordings “Skip foward” (chosen best demo of the year by Mondosonoro in 2003), they won the Festimad contest in May 2004 opening the festival and introducing themselves to a bigger crowd. That same year they start touring, playing in Andalucia, Barcelona and decide to self produce their first album , which was recorded in 10 days in November 2004. It was recorded by Santi García and Xavi Navarro in their studio "Ultramarinos Costa Brava" and it was for Aloud Music, and independent label, to give them the oportunity of signing their first contract to release “Bipolar Age” in June 2005.
"Bipolar age" appeared in all the “best records of the year”lists in 2005 in publications such as Mondosonoro or Rockzone magazine, selling out the first edition. Two years have passed by, in which they have not stopped touring and working in their intense and ragefull live performance.
Their appearences in tv and radio throughout the years are also to mention. The recent recording of 5 live songs for “los conciertos de radio 3” brodcasted months ago in tve2 and their first video “Mr smile”, filmed in Barcelona, wich reached Top nº2 in rock chart in MTV Spain. Their lastest videos “kill! Kill! Genocide” and "Polaroids" is also brodcasted in TV.
