No matter how much nujabes I listen to this remains my favorite of his pieces. This is the one that introduced me to Nujabes, and I didn't look for more of his stuff for a week afterwards because I was afraid that all of the rest of his stuff wouldn't live up to par. Boy was I wrong. However, this remains my favorite. [2]

I was also wondering where the sample came from! I see people have been wondering for quite some time. I hope they found the answer! It's Laurindo Almeida's version of The Lamp is Low off his Classical Current album. Apparently it's an adaption of Pavane pour une infante défunte by crazy old Maurice Ravel!
