OP Swamp 81 is a brainy electric funk band, hailing out of D.C. sampling political speeches from the Black Power Movement, Philadelphia Sound soul music, late 20th century electronica, and hip-hop breakbeats. They derived their name from Operation Swamp 81, the name of the government task force organized to expose hate after the Brixton Riots of 1981, which sadly only produced chaos. OP Swamp 81 produces love. And good music.
