the entire song was recorded in one take and after a really bad noel-charged oasis fallout that almost broke the band. noel decided to come back to the band after a very "before sunrise"-ish encounter with a random girl, which the song's lyrics are inspired by. the coughing and "let me take my watch off" in the start were included on purpose

whooo you know a lot of oasis ! i need another info : why the great song "Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders" was never sing in concert, no acoustic or unplugged, no session, no mix, no alt version, no demo....is this song have a problem with the band ? whereas it is a great great song (from GOAL movie soundtrack)!

Probably because the song was released in 2005. Oasis already had a huge catalogue of classics at that point. "Who Put the Weight of the World on My Shoulders?" is an obscure song from an obscure movie that barely anyone knows. I've never heard of that song before I read your comment despite listening to the band for over 20 years.

all oasis fans are agree to say that song is a hidden gem, one the top5 best song ! i'll advice you to read the comment on official youtube music song. it is a storm of happyness when they discover it. That song was on NO best of, no live, no acoustic, no public session. Only on the soundtrack.

Oasis B Sides from those first two albums were better than most bands singles from that time.

Is it just me or does it have some similarities to Jerry Cantrells' Settling Down?

The version with Weller (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6ixFW86WZ4) is the best one. Absurd!

The lovely, aching vocals, beautiful lyrics and the delicate simplicity of the acoustic give this song of intensely personal sorrow a strangely comforting feel. A perfect song indeed. Can't believe it was a b-side.
