While the song title seems like it would be about wanting someone to leave, Go Away is all about wanting someone to stay. In this song, Omar Apollo expresses longing for seeing more of his lover- who he doesn’t “see enough” of.
He describes a new relationship in which there are still many uncertainties, questioning “do you like all my friends?” and “is that too much or forcin?”.
The upbeat, undulating melody combined with Apollo’s melancholic lyrics creates a rhythmical and yet bittersweet song.
