Also, as if I didn't love electronic music enough--this album is so extravagant, it's like a ambient plunderphonics classical symphony

I discovered this album my first year of college and it changed my world. I was already trying to get into experiential music, but this album BROKE ME. To me, this just wasn't what music was supposed to sound like. It wasn't melodic, in fact, it was barely rhythmic. This wasn't catchy, but it was so orchestrated and vivid that i couldn't stop listening to it. I wanted to explore it, and try to identity all of the sounds, which was a way i never had thought to experience music before. What was crazy is that after this, it made me want to try listening to more music this way-- to try and appreciate the composite elements that make up my favorite music beyond melody or rhythm or even mood. It literally changed how i listened to music

Best OPN for me. The only tracks that haven't struck a chord yet are Power of Persuasion and Child Soldier. TOP 10 GOAT contender for sure.

I often feel like listening to ambient music, but I never really know what to listen to. Most of the time I reach for this album. It just doesn't get boring, but draws you deeper and deeper into its enchanted magical forest of sounds. Classic.

Produces an atmosphere that is simultaneously bleak and dense. Unbelievable. From the opening track through the end, this album is just downright amazing [3]

after close to a year or so of listening to this album, there's no question that this is an absolute 10/10 in my book. from the conceptual idea (check out OPN's 'Take Cover' interview) and technical execution, to the depressive, nostalgia-drenched surreality of all the sounds contained in this album, this shit is nothing short of a masterpiece. sorta reminds me of the soundtracks to Age of Empires I and Silk Road soundtrack, go hit those up too if you're looking for similar sounding stuff

I think that I can say this was my first truly experimental album that opened the door to many other releases. This album will always have a special place in my heart.
