Operatives formed in their home town of Northampton in late 2005, and shortly thereafter recorded their debut album "Wait No More". Described by the BBC's The Weekender as "inventive, manic, brave, funny, clever exciting", it received high praise and great reviews, not to mention several Garageband.com awards!
Following a break to pursue personal projects, the band burst back into the limelight in 2008, to play live on BBC Three's Upstaged, which was also cast on the internet for thousands of users to watch.
The bandplayed the Surface Unsigned Festival 2010 with the material from the 'Wait No More' album and got through to the regional Finals at the O2 Academy in Birmingham. Since then they have been wowing audiences at festivals and venues across the uk.
They are currently working on the second album.
