Biography
An upbeat acoustic folk medley that sinks into soulful folk on slow tunes carefully wrapped around excellent lyrics characterizes Osekre's work. He excellently weaves sounds and energy from his "jama" background in Accra through layers of Harlem, Brooklyn, and the midwest. Osekre's stage presence is unrivaled amongst his peers, and while he is a master at working his audience, Osekre is equally adept at interspersing his performances with delightful lyrics and poetry that leaves his audience begging. If Fela Kuti succeeded in bridging Afro tunes,Jazz and Funk, if K'naan found a way to bridge hip hop through Somalian poetry and African culture, Osekre is on a quest to bridging Afropop with Rock and roll, soulful folk and rap. For now however, Osekre and The Lucky Bastards will make you laugh, sing and cry.
Osekre is taking his poetry skills into the music industry and is bent to breathe new styles into the game.

The Current EP, “No turning back from Here” features the excellent Derrick Ashong from the band, Soulfege, on the “Verses for the Masses” track.
Osekre worked with the late Kiki Gyan of Osibisa, one of the few bands which dominated the World Music scene a generation before Fela.
