Biography

Daniel Delapaz, this is the spanish name of the italian guy who's behind Padre P-Yo. He was born in 1983 and passed the first years of his life in the 'gnugna' period, when everybody in the world had the truth in their mouth, and heroin in their veins. He grew up listening to Eros Ramazzotti because of his brother and studied piano until the age of 14, but he left a 6-years musical growth to start growing something else, something to smoke with his friends, precisely. At the age of 17 he formed a rap band named 'wZ crew' with 2 friends, and that's the moment in which the REAL passion for (rap) music began. In 2005 he left the band to start doing things on his own (including sex), and he actually succeeded in striking the italian rap listeners' attention with his freely downloadable demo-cd called "Il demo più inutile che esista" ("The most unuseful demo existing"), which contains a lot of dissing songs aiming at a bunch of italian rappers, mostly those who copycat "gangsta rap". He mocks whack rappers, too. The 'Father' P-Yo character (the name comes from Father Pio, the famous italian monk who was believed to have received stigmatas from God) went through a lot of problems because of those demo and nickname, he received internet and phone menaces, but he keeps going on, never letting anyone touch his freedom of speech, something always worthy to protect.
