Very solid album that sounds even better on a second listen. Their discography is amazingly consistent yet so diverse

This has become one of my favorite bands over the last couple of years, as I've been methodically listening each of their albums. I guess it would be fair for them to receive more recognition for the kind of art they're doing here, but at the same time I think this band is just great at this cult level. Anyway, thank you Parquet Courts.

I listen to Light Up Gold when I wanna rock and feel energized. I listen to Human Performance when I'm maybe a little sad and moody but angry. I listen to Wide Awake! when I wanna party but also go "Dammmnnnnn that's good..." at A Savage's lyrics and Austin's bass lines. I'll get back to you on Sunbathing Animal.

UPDATE: Content Nausea is great for when I'm feeling creative and wanna write or do something similar. Free flowing and very "just kind of trying things out"

EVERY MORNING I WAKE UP AND OPEN PALM SLAM A RECORD ONTO THE TURNTABLE. IT’S MONASTIC LIVING BY PARQUET COURTS AND RIGHT THEN AND THERE I START DOING THE MOVES ALONGSIDE WITH THE MAIN CHARACTER, A. SAVAGE. I DO EVERY MOVE AND I DO EVERY MOVE HARD. MAKIN WHOOSHING SOUNDS WHEN I SLAM DOWN SOME HIPSTER BASTARDS OR EVEN WHEN I MESS UP MOSH TECHNIQUE. NOT MANY CAN SAY THEY ESCAPED NYC'S MOST DANGEROUS K-HOLE. I CAN. I SAY IT AND I SAY IT OUTLOUD EVERYDAY TO PEOPLE IN MY NYC BOROUGH AND ALL THEY DO IS PROVE PEOPLE IN BUSHWICK CAN STILL BE IMMATURE JEKRS. AND IVE LEARNED ALL THE LINES AND IVE LEARNED HOW TO MAKE MYSELF AND MY APARTMENT LESS LONELY BY SHOUTING EM ALL. 2 HOURS INCLUDING FROG POND PLOD ON REPEAT EVERY MORNIng

This is almost embarrassing to admit, but I got into these guys after Youtube kept suggesting the video for Freebird II and I thought "Okay, I'll check it out!" Now I fucking LOVE that song and going back through PC's stuff makes me realize how much I've been missing out. This is the kind of music I put on when I can't decide what to listen to because it ALWAYS sounds good.
