Cool song. But buying too hard into the message just makes you seem like the tool.

This was written by Malvina Reynolds after she saw the tract houses in Daly City next to San Francisco. They still look tacky.

Haha! I am not a big fan of Seeger either. But, this is catchy if you don't read too much into his self-righteousness.

First he talks to much as usual, but the song above all the lyrics, is wonderful.

Pete did a great cover (usually, I'm not a big fan of covers) of Malvina Reynold's song...

This ditty playfully captured the early 60s generational awakening that life spent in mass cookie-cutter conformity was not the only way...

Perfect for a consumeristic, materialistic, capitalistic society. I hope the only "box" I live in that resembles anyone else's is pine and six feet under.

The adorable Malvina Reynolds version is here mis-tagged as Pete Seeger's version. Malvina Reynolds wrote it, and Pete Seeger had the big hit with it. Both great versions but I love Malvina's quavering voice. She was in her 60s when she began her career in music. She said she always had a "frog" in her throat. LOL! Bless her! Thankfully it did not put her off writing and performing!
