On a sunny day in April of 2001, I was on my way home from getting a haircut with my dad. I was (almost) six years old, and my dad asked me if I wanted to stop into the Strawberry's Music Store on the post road to pick out a new CD. Now, this was back in the days where you could go to the front of the CD racks, and listen to a few cuts from a selection of new releases. I put on the headphones, and looked at the names of artists I was not yet familiar with. I'm not sure what drew me to the Pete Yorn album, but I listened to a few cuts off of his then-new debut album. And it really was love at first listen. I waved my dad over to listen, and he was so impressed that he bought it. This CD has been a staple in my life ever since. I may not listen to it every day like I did in Kindergarten, but when I do, it takes me back to that lovely sunny day when my musical tastes blossomed. Thanks Pete

What a nice story. I hope you've kept this musical bond with your dad over the last 20 years. This album is an evergreen treasure for me. I liked it in 2002 when I bought it and when I play it now, I don't skip a single track. "Life on a Chain" all the way through "A Girl Like You," it hits the spot every single time.
