Biography

  • Founded In

    Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Melbourne, Australia based noise/punk/disco duo.
Born out of a desire to create a punk electronic sound that resembled the post-frankston hangover, Zayde Thring and Jannox Undermonds formed Pets with Pets in feb 2007.
They are currently touring Australia as their sound quickly gains underground popularity…
they seem to have attracted the interest of the international music press:

"They are called Pets With Pets And darn they've got one fucking cool song. I can't tell if its just latent racism on my part, but 'The Girl Up and Down' totally reminds me of Die! Die! Die! (who are from nearby New Zealand). Anyway, check them out here and witness that song. They just bumped Afrikan Boy from my myspazz track."
- Alex Miller - New Music Editor of NME

"maybe the best thing to happen in collingwood since smack"
- Acid Jacks

"Combining angular post-punk guitar work with dance-music's insistence on the groove, Melbourne's PWP would have maybe been called "dance-punk" back in 2003, but they're more raw, lo-fi and alive than much of that genre's current formulaic output, and sound more like Tom Vek than The Bravery. Under repeated shrieks of "it's all the same," the guitars build to a swirly frenzy, until dropping out for a single, buzzing bass note." - The Riff - New York City BRO!

"This is more like it… ace vacant beats! Cool sounds from the dance masters with nothing but style and attitude tearing up Melbourne's dance floors. You must get the Songs to Keep Her Dreams Unclean Demo. Certainly the new sound you need to hear NOW!" - NothingVampz.com

If the expectations are well founded, pets with pets could evolve into something big.
