My introduction to Phideaux was Number Seven when it came out, and it still remains my favorite among other masterpieces of the band!

Brilliant. I don't know where Phideaux gets his ideas for each album, because each album has his own distinct sound, but damn, he's a genius. "Number Seven" is on the same level as "Chupacabras" and "Doomsday Afternoon".

I have just finished listerning to this album from start to end and I think that it is good, but Doonsday Afternoon is still better and "Chupacabras" is still the best song. The standout songs from my first listen (as in the songs that I can still remember) were the "dormouse" songs, "Waiting for the Axe to fall", "the search for terrestrial life", "storia senti" (my current favourite) and "infinite supply". The lyrics have little meaning (as expected) and the end of each song is the start of the next. It is the prime example of the type of album that grows on you in time and the songs are stronger when you listen to all of them in one go.

Actually, very unexpected differently than what I, well, expected. Fantastic album, though maybe not at the level of Doomsday Afternoon.
