"Childhood's End" is a song from Pink Floyd's 1972 album Obscured by Clouds. It was the last Pink Floyd song to feature lyrics by David Gilmour or to be composed entirely solo by him, until the album A Momentary Lapse of Reason. The lyrics may have been influenced by the Arthur C. Clarke novel of the same name. The lyrics themselves distinctly recount the final days of Jan Rodricks, the last man on Earth, and the price paid by mankind in the final pages of the book.
David Gilmour is the only vocalist on the song.
