the way the keyboard and the acoustic guitar compliment each other from 6:50-7:10 is beautiful

This song single-handedly kickstarted my love for music back when I was 14 years old.

Technically the best song on Animals, but I have more of a soft spot for Sheep and that spectacular final two minutes - I listened to it on a flight to New York and it dovetailed spectacularly with the plane landing.

The manner in which this song relates to me is seeing it as a requiem for the working class, the decline of which fits both the mournful musical expression and the form of the song as more akin to free-flowing stream of social consciousness as bold as the album cover is specifically to England. An appropriate contrast would be any bit of the part of Indiana I grew up in during the Reagan administration and beyond, living in the shadows of post-Boom and more critically post-Vietnam, the effects of which set shaky the stage on which my father’s generation found its way into adulthood.

Wilson cited it as one of his favorite Floyd songs in his book Limited Edition of One. He writes a considerable amount about their influence on him.
