Don’t know where this whole “money is the weakest song on dark side of the moon” narrative started, but you are all wrong. It goes so hard, and after the downer that is the great gig in the sky, an upbeat heavier song like this just helps the flow of the album so much. Plus the groovy bassline and the time signature thing. I hold similar thoughts with electioneering on OK Computer, for what it’s worth.

Not my favourite from the album but still fantastic. The local radio station used to use soundbites of it to hype their dumb workday game show though, and it took a long time to dissociate the actual song from... that.

I used to think "Money" was an odd choice for this record and that it didn't fit well with the rest of the album in a cohesive way. I still think this, of course, but I used to think it, too.

Having a (deceptively) simple blues rocker in the middle of this record has the feeling of weighing down the flights of fancy with the cold hard truth of capitalism, which is where a lot of this point fans have made about this record resides. “Us and Them” is as much of a reckoning of the less then friendly atmosphere of the world in the 70’s, if not by those holding dearly those softly spoken spells it would be those who truly made that time the “me” generation. It’s the masterful sequencing as this segues into the organ of that song that is really my favorite moment in the whole album, and speaks more to me what the meaning of it all is. Can’t buy love.

for every negative comment about money I’ll listen to money again, since it hurts them so much that people like it.

One of the few "overplayed" songs that still sounds as fresh the 1000th time as it does the first :) That solo is SO DAMN GOOD

For a supposedly gloomy album, they don't half sound like they're having fun on this one.

One of the first songs that I learned to play on bass. Love the jamming on the "Delicate Sound of Thunder" version, Guy Pratt really rips it up during his solo.
