"This song is about hating your parents" is a way Brian Molko introduced the second track off of their self-titled album when playing live. The fourth single from their debut album, “Teenage Angst” managed to reach number 30 on the U.K Singles Chart, and came accompanied by a bright and vivid video “shot” inside a giant red latex cube.

The song has gone through multiple, significant arrangements such as during their exclusive 'Loud Like Love TV' promotional YouTube livestream Stefan Olsdal revealed a brand new bass-focused edition will make it's way onto the "Loud Like Love" tour setlist. "Teenage Angst" is the only track that has survived every single tour with the band since 1996.

Brian Molko said in 2013 that "It took 20 years since I wrote that song for us to settle on what I think is the definitive version, but that’s OK".
