Biography
Planet V (former Breakdown) is a Post grunge/Alternative rock project, founded in 2006 by Armin Meftahi. For more than 2 years from 2004 Armin Meftahi and Amirreza Maleki worked together and covered the songs of Hard rock and metal bands like Staind, Metallica and similar artists. They recorded some covers and demos by basic equipments.
After a while Armin wrote a song which is called "Falling down", because of time Restriction Amir refused to participate in recording the first single so the song recorded In Keisan studio with 3 guest players for bass guitar, drums and lead guitar for outro part of the song, However the song was completely finished instrumentally and two versions of lyrics were Written by Armin it didn't reach the complete level and remained instrumental.
After the first experience Armin decided to work on new materials and reselect them for releasing a new album, after about 4 years composing and selecting about 9 songs and working on them the materials Were ready to record, since Armin was limited in Kish Island for educational reasons and he was unable to find a band that could articulate the materials as he desired, Instead, inspired by Trent Reznor, Armin decided to record all the instruments except drums and piano himself although Pedram Sabrizadeh helped him in Bass guitar as a player in some songs.
He resolved to record the instruments part in his own home studio and recorded vocals in Pezhman and Pouyan Moradies (Persian force founders) home studio and master the recorded songs with their partnership.
Because of Armin’s emphasize for finishing the album due to the end of summer 2011, finally He decided to release an EP album and reduce the number of tracks to 5 for two reasons: First having more time to working on few songs instead of releasing an official album in short period of time and second to put materials with variant genres instead of making a pure alternative/post-grunge album. As expected the EP album released at the end of summer and promoted (free to download). Since the album was a combination of Alternative, Hard rock and Pop genres there is no special genre for Breakdown project in this album.
According to the criticisms which were basically about the quality of recording and mastering tech, Armin decided to Start the official album in studio and prefer to use guest players to focus only on the composing and arranging part of new album instead of handling all parts of producing independently.
The next album which is the official album will represent the breakdown project’s direction.
After that we found out that the name of "Breakdown" is already in use by another band,the "Breakdown" Changed to "Planet V" Project.
in 2012 Armin Meftahi decided to work on new materials and Some new works, so he found Mehrad Sohrabi and Siavash Norouzi suitable for the new project of Planet V and started training, So finally the Planet Vs line up is Armin Meftahi as Guitar and Vocal, Siavash Norouzi for Bass Guitar and Mehrdad Sohrabi for Drums.
They recorded some new materials (about 7 tracks) more crunchy and heavier than the First projects demo (Forever) and the band is still working on the official Album or EP.
