If anybody wants a 'new Planet X album,' you can pretty much get that with the Collins/Wardingham Project. They only had one album, but it's pretty much a dead ringer for this style, with some other surprises (like a track that has some Tool inspired parts.) Got to this band through a comparison that was made, that's how similar they are.

I discovered The Collins/Wardingham Project recently - it closely resembles Planet X. Really excellent music! Check it out - www.youtube.com/watch?v=guD1d7RE8fo

BNAstation послушал бы их тогда бы рэп стал называть шнягой, хотя думаю твоя голова не переварит такую музыку и лучше дальше хлебай рэп..

@Bionic_Commando: Since Tony MacAlpine is back in the band I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. I like all 3 of them though. Can't decide which is my favorite between the three. Guitar solo in Moonbabies = EARGASM!

I'm really unsure of Derek Sherinian and Planet X's new stuff. Quantum was a major disappoint to me. It didn't come close to Universe or Moonbabies and Derek Sherinian's last two albums haven't been brilliant compared to Black Utopia and Mythology. I hope their newer stuff contains more of what I love about Derek and Planet X.

I will see them playing tomorrow in Katowice. It's gonna be great concert. :D I hope they will play Alien Hip Hop. And I wish I'll hear some new music from next album.

Since when were Howe and Holdsworth invited to join as full time members? Either would have been great but seriously if it was true they were invited to join wouldn't that harm the working relationship in Tony's ongoing regular partnerships with Donati? Anyone know yet why Tony took a break from the band in the first place?

What the hell is up with this "s/t" album? They should get another band name. It's embarrassing having these sound samples on Sherinian's Planet X page...

@Ultrandy = Yeah, lol. And ofc the double bass double strokes at 180-200 bpm.. on Yotube you can read in comments, *that he sucks because he can only do double bass*. I think these people should not be tha tjealous and just accept that theyre not as good as he is (and will never be that good). Probably just some *omgimgoodandIthinkIcandrum*- nubs. Even without the double bass part he would be one of the best band drummers in the world, if not in the whole prog scene. The double bass part makes it just even more impressive, to see how he can play multiple different rhytms at the same time.

Liquid tension experiment are very good, but they just cant be compared with Planet X. I think Jordan Rudess is better than Derek on the keyboards, but the other band members from Planet X are just better than the ones from LTE. I think the most important difference between Planet X and LTE, is that Planet X focuses on the band as a whole and LTE seems to focus more on Mike. No offense to LTE, because they also rock, but that combined with the flowing of rhytms in the Planet X music in a way noone else can do that, they are just better an you cant compare LTE with that, because Planet X are just on a higher lvl.

Funkafonik, probably someone put them here by band name only... and, sadly, there is more than one Planet X... :(
