Biography

Norman Dück (born December 15, 1995, in Dortmund, Germany) is a musician and recording artist based in Bielefeld, Germany. Over the years, he has ventured into various musical genres under different aliases. His musical journey began in 2015 as Norman Dück, followed by Yasumu in 2019, Morunas in 2020, and Plant Guy in 2022. Despite the diversity in his musical explorations, a common thread that runs through his work is his affinity for ambient compositions infused with nostalgic undertones.

Norman's early fascination with orchestral music shaped his artistic trajectory. He received classical training as a pianist as a child. During his formative years, he delved into crafting minimal piano and orchestral compositions. Music, especially playing the piano, became a sanctuary during his adolescence, offering solace and respite from life's challenges. Norman attributes music to saving his soul and providing an emotional outlet.

His involvement in a local church band as a pianist marked the beginning of his musical journey within a group setting. Norman regularly creates piano covers and original compositions, sharing his talent with the world. Currently, he collaborates with acclaimed labels such as Sonderhouse, 1631 Recordings, Double J Music, and more, focusing on the production of classical piano music.

From 2018 onwards, Norman diversified his musical repertoire by composing orchestral and pop music tailored for television, film, advertisements, and trailers. Notably, in August 2019, he collaborated with Warner/Chappell Music Germany on a production music album, which saw its public release later that year.

In pursuit of creative freedom and an escape from the commercial music landscape, Norman found a haven with Lofi Records. Here, he adopts the personas of Yasumu and Plant Guy, embracing the role of a beatmaker. Through these alter egos, he unleashes his artistic expression without constraints, finding pure joy in creating music that resonates with his unique vision.
