Biography
Plus Ganzwind are part of a small but vivid and young indie-scene originating from Straubing/Southern Germany. Their influences are mainly Thrill Jockey artists like Tortoise, Jim O´Rourke, The Sea And Cake and also Yo La Tengo. In 2001, after a short appearance at "Swampland Sessions", a series of in-recordstore concerts in Regensburg, organized by Archie Müller and Isolde von Reusner, who later founded the label Schinderwies Productions, Manfred Adler, Tom Baran, Georg Fuchssteiner and Matthias Lehrberger locked themselves up in an art-workshop with a MD-fourtrack and came back with an album of six instrumentals which brilliantly form an integrated whole.
Almost a year later Plus Ganzwind was chosen to be the first official Schinderwies release (CD, 500 numbered copies). Sunlit guitar melodies, often looped, communicate with each other and radiate an uplifting calm euphoria, grounded by driving jazz drums and decorated with sparkles of electronics and melodica. After a year of sporadic live shows the band unfortunately broke apart. Drummer Matthias Lehrberger releases on Schinderwies with his electronic solo-project Auf dem Weg ins Kaufhaus… and Manfred Adler is involved in different other projects, like the Emocore band The European Translation of…
