Poisk is the solo project of Simon Langdon.
The project initially started in 2008 with home recordings and has evolved into live performances from 2012 onwards.
Recorded material typically involves a lot of layered instrumentation and sound manipulation which cannot easily be recreated live.
Live performances are based around structured improvisation, combining experimental guitar playing with home made noise instruments to create a unique sound, varying from meditative soundscapes to visceral sonic assault.
Toothbrushes, screwdrivers, slinkies, joysticks and all other manner of items are used to create and manipulate sounds. A strong focus is placed on the juxtaposition of contrasting sounds.
