Hello! I make music under the name "Avargyűjtő" (Fallen Leaves Collector) in Budapest, Hungary. In addition to Surfrock and Krautrock, I primarily follow the traditions of contemporary Eastern European and Russian Post-Punk. I don't make money with my music, and I don't plan concerts either. I have money, and i don't want to be famous. For me it's just about the Post-Punk, Krautrock and Surfrock legacy, which I'm trying to authentically carry forward. ........................................................... Don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna rant about how one would be artistically superior to the other, because I believe in no such grading for art. But like, Aguirre for instance. I do enjoy the movie, I think it's a great film. But it pleasures me the most to just listen to the album while I work, or relax. Watching that movie again is not really something I would do. The music is just more meaningful to me I guess. :)

i agree with this. i've seen Aguirre a few times and i think it is excellent but it's also challenging. the soundtrack is something i can revisit any time, as you said, working or relaxing. it's not a matter of artistic merit, it's just that the soundtrack is much more accessible

Given the visual artwork and spiritual essence (not to mention their occasional recordings in churches), I'd rather say this music is listened by Angels in heaven.

Krautrock "scholars" usually label all members of the 60's-70's German experimental scene as krautrock, regardless of the music actually being rock or not. It's more about place/time/philosophy than a particular sound, although these artists do share many characteristics. See the Progarchives definition for their explanation: http://progarchives.com/subgenre.asp?style=17

'Kosmiche Musik' is the preferred term, if we're going to give these bands a label at all.

the bonus track off Hosianna Mantra called "Ave Maria" is fucking brutally beautiful. It wrecks me and makes me cry.

Popol Vuh is responsible for the creation of some of the greatest music of all time, IMO. The soundtracks for the Werner Herzog films are particularly good, then of course there's the absolutely fantastic Hosianna Mantra and In den Garten Pharaos. Everything from the late 60s through til the 80s represents the peak of Popol Vuh/Florian Fricke.
